Guys, I have been loving my Imperfect Produce subscription. Every other week (or so), I get a box of fresh fruits and veggies which have been largely NOT imperfect at all – for the same price or less than the grocery store.
These are just a few examples of some of the boxes I’ve received. You can choose the size, whether you just want fruit or just want veggies or a mix of both, and even if you want exclusively organic.
You have a window of a day or so to actually customize what goes in your box (you can see all that’s available, vs. what they’ve pre-selected for you), to make sure you like what you’re getting or don’t get too much of something you don’t need. You can also reschedule, skip or cancel anytime with no penalty, unlike many CSAs or other subscriptions.
Usually I end up going through a few items in my box for dinner the night I get it – like the below shishito peppers. I’ve never had them at home before, only in restaurants (they are a traditional Spanish tapa, but also are prevalent in other cultures as well). They say one in ten are spicy – and that held true for this batch!
Vegetables are so easy – eat them raw, or throw them in the oven with some olive oil and salt and call it a day. Fruit is the thing historically I haven’t eaten as much of, but the plums, pears, peaches and apples I’ve tried through Imperfect Produce have allowed me to eat more fruit with little effort.
Are you doing Imperfect Produce? Something similar? Would you consider it? If you use the link in this post to try it, you’ll get $10 off your first box!
